What is a Sassy Chikkin?

When my daughters were born, I started calling them my chickens.  I have no idea why, except I totally relate to being a Mama Hen! Soon my whole family was calling the little ones "chikkins" and it stuck!

I have always been a creator and business woman. My first business was in Junior High making friendship bracelets and selling them so I could buy books.  I made various things through the years, but when I saw these beautiful wooden spoons in a big box store, I knew I had found a calling.  I bought five of them and a wood burning tool and began with "Roux the Day" (I am originally from Louisiana, and EVERYTHING starts with a roux!)  and started giving them away as gifts. 

 

In 2018 I started watching The Great British Baking Show, and made a Star Baker spoon that went viral! I thought my hand was going to fall off wood burning up to 30 spoons a day for 6 weeks straight!  So the next year I invested in a laser engraver, and the possibilities are ENDLESS!  Personalized handwriting, intricate details, and design perfection - almost anything is possible!
